Yale Young African Scholars (YYAS) 2026

Location: Nairobi, Kenya (Residential) & Online

Eligibility Criteria Applicants must: *Be a citizen or permanent resident of an African country. *Be currently enrolled in secondary school (typically ages 14–18). *Have strong academic performance and leadership potential. *Be able to participate fully in either the in-person or online program. *Have not yet begun university studies.

The Yale Young African Scholars (YYAS) Program empowers outstanding African secondary school students through leadership, academic enrichment, and college readiness training.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:

*Be a citizen or permanent resident of an African country.

*Be currently enrolled in secondary school (typically ages 14–18).

*Have strong academic performance and leadership potential.

*Be able to participate fully in either the in-person or online program.

*Have not yet begun university studies.

Funding / Coverage

*No application fee.

*Need-based travel grants for eligible participants.

*All program materials and participation costs are fully covered.
