 Eligibility Criteria

• Open to nationals of WTO member and accession countries

• Must be at least 21 years old

• Completed an undergraduate degree

• Currently enrolled in or recently completed a Master’s or PhD

• Strong academic background related to trade, law, economics, or development

• Proficiency in English (French or Spanish is an advantage)

The WTO Internship Programmes 2026 offer postgraduate students and young professionals a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience at the World Trade Organization in Geneva. Interns work closely with WTO divisions on global trade policy, economics, law, development, statistics, communications, and international cooperation. The program aims to build capacity, particularly for candidates from developing and least-developed countries.

• Currently enrolled in or recently completed a Master’s or PhD

• Strong academic background related to trade, law, economics, or development

• Proficiency in English (French or Spanish is an advantage)

Funding / Internship Benefits
Paid Internship includes:

• Daily stipend of CHF 60 per day (general programme)

• Up to CHF 90 per day (China / developing country programmes)

• Internship duration of 3–10 months (depending on track)

• Exposure to international trade negotiations and WTO work

• Professional experience at a UN-related organization
