University of Trento Foundation Year Program 2025–26 for Students from Conflict Zones

The University of Trento Foundation Year 2025–26 is a fully funded academic program designed for international students from conflict-affected regions who are unable to safely start or continue their higher education.
Up to 10 students will be selected to attend this one-year Foundation Program, which includes university courses, language training (Italian & English), academic skills preparation, and integration support.
Participants will gain the necessary foundation to pursue Bachelor’s or Master’s studies at the University of Trento in the following academic year (2026–27).
Eligibility Criteria
Who can apply:
• Non-EU citizens currently residing outside Italy.
• Applicants from conflict-affected areas unable to pursue university studies in their home country.
• Must have completed at least 12 years of education or possess a qualification granting access to higher education in Italy.
• Strong motivation and readiness to study in an international, multicultural environment.
• Applicants with incomplete documentation due to conflict may submit a Study History Form provided by UniTrento.
Funding / Coverage
Selected participants will receive a comprehensive scholarship package, including:
• €7,200 scholarship (paid in two installments).
• Full tuition waiver for the Foundation Year.
• Free accommodation in shared student housing.
• Two free meals per day at university cafeterias.
• Travel expenses from home country to Trento.
• Health insurance or registration with the Italian National Health Service.
• Annual transport pass for local and regional travel.
• Academic tutoring, psychological and legal support, and access to cultural & sports activities.
