The PhD Studentship in International Migration and Ethnic Relations (IMER) 2027 at Malmö University is a fully funded doctoral opportunity for highly motivated researchers interested in migration, diversity, social inclusion, and ethnic relations. The successful candidate will join one of Europe's leading migration research environments and undertake an original research project as part of the Migration Society 2.0 research programme.
The doctoral student will be employed full-time by Malmö University for four years while completing a PhD degree. The programme combines advanced doctoral coursework with independent research and offers expert supervision, access to international research networks, teaching opportunities, and excellent professional development in a collaborative academic environment.
Eligibility Criteria
• Must hold a Master's degree (or equivalent second-cycle qualification)
• Must have completed at least 240 higher education credits, including 60 credits at Master's level (or equivalent)
• Must have an academic background in International Migration and Ethnic Relations (IMER) or a related discipline
• Must demonstrate strong academic and analytical abilities
• Must be capable of conducting independent research
• Must submit a high-quality research proposal (maximum 3,000 words)
• Strong quantitative research and statistical analysis skills are an advantage
