The PhD Scholarships 2026 at the University of Konstanz offer 7 fully funded doctoral positions for international students interested in researching the politics and dynamics of inequality.
The programme is part of the Cluster of Excellence “Politics of Inequality,” an interdisciplinary research initiative exploring how inequality shapes political systems, public opinion, and social outcomes worldwide.
Selected doctoral researchers will join a dynamic international academic environment and collaborate with leading scholars across disciplines such as political science, economics, sociology, and linguistics.
Doctoral candidates will work on innovative research topics related to inequality, participate in seminars and workshops, and contribute to cutting-edge academic debates on global inequality.
The positions are funded as research assistantships (75% employment) under the German academic salary system and provide a structured doctoral training programme in a world-class research setting.
Eligibility Criteria
• Applicants must hold a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field
• Open to international applicants from all countries
• Background in disciplines such as political science, economics, sociology, linguistics, or related social sciences
• Strong academic record and research interest in inequality studies
• Ability to work in an interdisciplinary and international research environment
• Proficiency in English for research and academic collaboration
