The Mozilla Fellows Program 2026 is a highly competitive, paid global fellowship supporting individuals who are shaping the future of technology for public good.
The program empowers fellows to work on impactful projects that promote ethical AI, digital rights, open data, privacy, transparency, and internet health. Fellows receive financial support, mentorship, and access to Mozilla’s global network to scale their ideas and influence policy, communities, and technology ecosystems.
The fellowship runs for 12 months and supports both independent projects and embedded placements with partner organizations.
Eligibility Criteria
Who can apply:
• Technologists, researchers, journalists, artists, advocates, and policymakers
• Demonstrated experience working at the intersection of technology and society
• Strong commitment to ethical, inclusive, and open technology
• Ability to lead a project independently or collaboratively
• Open to applicants from most countries worldwide
• Must be able to legally receive stipend payments
(No formal degree requirement)
Funding / Coverage
Fully Funded & Paid Fellowship
Two fellowship tracks:
Track I – Embedded Fellows
• Total support: USD 100,000
– USD 75,000 stipend
– USD 25,000 project budget
• Fellows work with a host organization on applied, community-focused challenges
Track II – Independent Fellows
• Total support: USD 125,000
– USD 100,000 stipend
– USD 25,000 project budget
• Fellows lead ambitious, field-defining independent projects
