 Eligibility Criteria
Who can apply to the MS program + scholarship:
• Bachelor’s degree in any relevant field (finance, economics, STEM, policy, environment, etc.)

• Strong academic background + quantitative skills (quantitative résumé required)

• International and U.S. applicants eligible

• Demonstrated interest in climate finance, sustainability, or economic development

• English proficiency (TOEFL 100, IELTS 7.5, Duolingo 135)

• GRE/GMAT optional (not required)

• For the Stanley Park Scholarship:
– Priority given to applicants from developing/emerging countries
– Must submit a 500-word scholarship statement
– Commitment to public service, nonprofit leadership, or climate development is valued

The MS in Climate Finance at Columbia University is a cutting-edge, one-year professional master’s program designed to train future leaders in climate-focused financial strategies.

Offered jointly by the Columbia Climate School and Columbia Business School, this STEM-designated program equips students with advanced knowledge in climate science, financial analysis, capital markets, sustainable investing, adaptation & mitigation finance, nature finance, and policy frameworks.

To promote global climate leadership, Columbia offers the Stanley Park Climate Finance Scholarship, a prestigious fully funded tuition scholarship targeted especially at applicants from developing and emerging economies who demonstrate strong academic excellence and commitment to climate action.

The program prepares graduates to work at the intersection of finance, sustainability, energy transition, public policy, climate-tech, and global development — all from New York City, one of the world’s major financial hubs.

Stanley Park Climate Finance Scholarship (Highly Competitive):
• FULL tuition coverage for three (3) selected students

• Awarded based on academic merit, leadership potential, and commitment to climate finance

• Open to international students (priority: developing economies)

Additional Notes:
• Scholarship applies only to tuition (living expenses not included)

• Must apply by the priority deadline to be considered

• Can be combined with some external fellowships but not with other internal Columbia funding
