The Mo Ibrahim Foundation – University of Birmingham Scholarship 2026 is a prestigious fully funded opportunity for African students to pursue an MSc in Development Policy & Politics in the UK.
This unique 2-year programme combines academic study with practical experience. Scholars complete a one-year master’s degree followed by a one-year professional internship, gaining deep insight into governance, leadership, and development policy in Africa.
Participants engage with real-world policy challenges, contribute to research, and connect with influential leaders and institutions shaping Africa’s development landscape.
Eligibility Criteria
• Must be a citizen of an African country (preference for Sub-Saharan Africa)
• Must be under 30 years old
• Hold a first-class undergraduate degree (or equivalent)
• Background in relevant fields (e.g., politics, international relations, development, sociology)
• Meet English language requirements (IELTS 6.5 / TOEFL 93)
• Strong interest in governance, policy, and development
