Eligibilita

*Who can apply (degree, country, age, etc.)

*Applicants must be citizens of African Union member states or African Commonwealth countries

*Must have applied for a full-time, on-campus programme at a public Higher Education Institution in Mauritius

Age Requirements

Undergraduate Programmes (Diploma & Degree):

*Minimum age: 18 years

*Must not be older than 26 years by 01 January 2027

*Postgraduate Programmes (MPhil, MPhil/PhD, PhD):

*Must not be older than 40 years by 01 January 2027

The Mauritius Africa Scholarship Scheme 2026 is a fully funded scholarship offered by the Government of Mauritius to deserving students from African Union member states and African Commonwealth countries. The program aims to support talented African students in accessing quality higher education in Mauritius while strengthening academic and cultural ties across Africa.

This scholarship supports undergraduate and postgraduate (MPhil and PhD) studies at public higher education institutions in Mauritius, covering tuition fees, living expenses, and return airfare.

*From home country to Mauritius at the start of studies

*Return to home country upon successful completion of studies

Duration of Scholarship

*Undergraduate Diploma: 3 years

*Undergraduate Degree: 4 years

*MPhil: 2 years + 6 months (thesis defence)

*MPhil/PhD: 3 years + 6 months (transfer report) + 1 year + 6 months (thesis defence)

*PhD: 3 years + 6 months (thesis defence)
