The Trinity Fellows Program is a fully funded, service-oriented graduate fellowship designed for emerging leaders committed to social and economic justice, community transformation, and urban leadership.
This prestigious 21-month fellowship combines a master’s degree at Marquette University with a professional placement in a Milwaukee-based nonprofit or community organization, giving fellows real-world impact while advancing their academic development.
The program cultivates professionals dedicated to strengthening urban communities through research, advocacy, service design, nonprofit management, and innovative solutions to social challenges. Fellows join a supportive cohort, gain hands-on experience, and work with mission-driven organizations shaping the future of social change.
Ideal candidates are passionate about public service, community development, equity, social justice, nonprofit leadership, and urban policy, and have demonstrated commitment through prior service or nonprofit work.
Eligibility Criteria
Who can apply:
• U.S. Citizens, Permanent Residents, or DACA recipients
• Must have a completed bachelor’s degree
• Must apply to (or already be admitted into) a Marquette University master’s program eligible for the fellowship
• Required background:
– One full-time service experience (e.g., AmeriCorps, Peace Corps, Jesuit Volunteer Corps, etc.) OR
– Minimum 2 years of full-time nonprofit employment
• Strong academic record and proven commitment to social & economic justice
• Ability to reside in Milwaukee and participate full-time for 21 months
• Submission of:
– Graduate program application (Marquette University)
– Fellowship application form
– Resume/CV
– Personal statement
– Academic transcripts
– Letters of recommendation (varies by program)
• No part-time or online participation allowed
Funding / Coverage
Trinity Fellows Graduate Funding Package
(Full Tuition + Living Stipend for 21 Months)
• Full tuition scholarship for eligible master’s degree programs
• Living stipend (~USD $37,813 across the fellowship period; paid biweekly)
• Professional development support
• Full-time summer placement (paid through stipend)
• Academic fee waiver for Marquette Graduate School application
• Access to leadership development, cohort seminars, and community engagement activities
Additional Notes:
• Fellows pay a modest program participation fee (~$625 per semester)
• Fellowship is highly competitive
• Must be physically present in Milwaukee for academic and community placements
