 Eligibility Criteria
Who can apply:

• Applicants to the Master of Public Policy (MPP)
• Open to all nationalities

• Candidates with strong academic backgrounds in:
– public policy, environmental studies, sustainability, political science, energy systems, social sciences, development studies, economics, or related fields

• Demonstrated interest in climate action, sustainability policy, or environmental governance

• Evidence of academic potential (leadership, research experience, motivation)

• Must meet Hertie School admission requirements

• Submission of a 1-page scholarship statement explaining motivation and climate relevance

• Only one full scholarship application per year allowed

The Hertie School Climate Action Scholarship is a prestigious, fully funded tuition scholarship for exceptional students committed to shaping climate policy, sustainability governance, and global energy transition solutions.

This scholarship supports future leaders seeking to address complex climate challenges through evidence-based policy, interdisciplinary research, and public-sector innovation.

Scholars pursue the Master of Public Policy (MPP) while engaging with Hertie’s renowned faculty and research centres working on sustainability, climate governance, and environmental policy.
