The Deakin University PhD Scholarship in Gender-Based Violence 2026 is a fully funded doctoral research opportunity designed for outstanding candidates interested in examining how young people engage with public discourse on gender-based violence (GBV).

This scholarship forms part of a broader Australian Research Council-funded project exploring how individuals aged 18–34 interpret, respond to, and emotionally engage with narratives surrounding GBV in media and public campaigns.

The selected PhD candidate will contribute to innovative qualitative research using methods such as digital storytelling, interviews, and participatory approaches. The research aims to strengthen prevention strategies, enhance public education frameworks, and inform policy responses to gender-based violence.
