• Hold a Master’s degree with a minimum of 65% (Merit or equivalent)

• Hold an Upper Second Class (2:1) Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

• Strong academic background and research potential

• Meet English language requirements (IELTS/TOEFL or equivalent)

• Able to commence full-time PhD study in September 2026

• International and Chinese applicants are eligible

The University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) is offering fully funded PhD scholarships for outstanding international and domestic students for the 2026 academic year. These scholarships are available within the Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences and aim to support high-quality doctoral research in a globally recognized UK university environment based in China. Successful candidates will receive full financial support and earn a PhD degree awarded by the University of Nottingham (UK).

Funding / Scholarship Benefits
The scholarship is fully funded and includes:

• Full tuition fee coverage for up to 36 months

• Monthly living stipend of approximately RMB 4,500

• Funding subject to satisfactory academic progress

• Opportunities for paid Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) or Research Assistant (RA) roles from Year 2 (subject to availability and training)
