The ETH Zürich PhD Scholarship 2026 in Agricultural Economics and Climate Policy is a prestigious fully funded doctoral opportunity for international students passionate about sustainability, agricultural systems, and climate action.
Hosted by ETH Zurich’s Agricultural Economics and Policy Group, the programme focuses on climate mitigation strategies within Swiss agriculture and agri-food systems.
The PhD position is part of the ACHIEVE Project, a major interdisciplinary initiative that brings together researchers, policymakers, industry stakeholders, and civil society organizations to explore pathways toward achieving Switzerland’s net-zero climate goals.
Selected doctoral researchers will engage in advanced economic and policy research while receiving mentorship from leading academics in environmental economics and sustainability studies. Eligibility Criteria
• Must hold or be close to completing a Master’s degree in Agricultural Economics or a related field
• Strong quantitative, analytical, and research skills required
• Interest in climate policy, sustainability, and agri-food systems
• Ability to work in interdisciplinary and collaborative research teams
• Excellent academic writing and communication skills
• Proficiency in German or French at C1 level preferred/required for the role
• Open to international applicants from all countries
