EPFL Life Sciences Summer Research Program 2026

Location: Lausanne, Switzerland

Applicants must:

*Be currently enrolled in a university program in biology, biophysics, bioengineering, bioinformatics, genetics, chemistry, quantitative biology, medical, or related life sciences fields.

*Have completed at least two years of undergraduate study and up to one year of a master’s degree before the program start.

*Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.75/4.0 (or top 5% of class).

*Show strong motivation and passion for pursuing a career in life sciences.

*Submit all application materials online (transcript, essay responses, and one recommendation letter).

The EPFL Life Sciences Summer Research Program (SRP) in Switzerland is a fully funded 8-week intensive research opportunity for international students in life sciences. The program allows participants to gain hands-on experience in cutting-edge EPFL laboratories, work closely with mentors and faculty, and take part in scientific seminars and personal development workshops. Participants also enjoy social activities, including day hikes and group events.

Applicants must:

Funding / Coverage:
* CHF 3,600 stipend for two months (covers housing & living expenses)
* Pre-arranged accommodation near EPFL (single or double rooms, shared kitchen & bathroom)

Travel reimbursement:
• Up to CHF 1,000 for overseas participants
• Up to CHF 500 for European participants
* No application fee and no IELTS required
