The British Council MSc TESOL Scholarships 2026 is a fully funded professional development opportunity for experienced English language teachers and teacher educators in South Asia.
This scholarship supports selected candidates to pursue the MSc in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) (Online) delivered by the University of Stirling in collaboration with the British Council.
The programme runs for approximately 30 months and combines flexible online study with a two-week academic residency in the United Kingdom.
Designed to strengthen English language teaching capacity in government education systems, the scholarship equips educators with advanced pedagogical skills, research expertise, and leadership knowledge. Scholars are expected to apply their learning within their home country upon completion of the programme.
This initiative aims to enhance the quality of English language education and contribute to long-term educational development in the region.
Eligibility Criteria
• Must be a citizen of Bangladesh, India, or Sri Lanka
• Currently working as an English teacher or teacher educator in a government school system
• Meet academic entry requirements for the MSc TESOL programme
• Demonstrate commitment to professional development and educational impact
• Willing to return to home country after completion of studies
