• Must apply for one of the following LSE PhD programs:

*MRes/PhD Political Science (urban governance focus)

*MPhil/PhD Human Geography and Urban Studies

*MPhil/PhD Regional and Urban Planning Studies

*MPhil/PhD Management – Information Systems and Innovation (urban management focus)

*MPhil/PhD Sociology (cities focus)
• Strong research interest in city governance, management, or innovation

The Bloomberg Philanthropies PhD Studentship in Cities supports research focused on urban governance, city leadership, and innovation. The program encourages collaboration between academic researchers and city governments, promoting real-world impact on urban policy and sustainable city development. Students will explore the challenges and opportunities shaping the future of European cities over the next decade.

• Full tuition fees
