The Australia Awards Fellowships are short-term, fully funded professional development programs designed to build long-term partnerships between Australian organisations and Overseas Counterpart Organisations (OCOs).
Round 21 supports mid-career and senior professionals from eligible developing countries to participate in tailored training, research, and leadership activities in Australia. The program aims to strengthen institutional capacity, promote mutual learning, and contribute to sustainable development outcomes aligned with Australia’s foreign policy priorities.
Eligibility Criteria
Who can apply (Host Applicants):
• Australian organisations with a valid ABN
• Public, private, non-profit, academic, or government institutions
• Must partner with an eligible Overseas Counterpart Organisation (OCO)
• Individuals are not eligible to apply
Fellow (Participant) Requirements:
• Aged 18 years or older
• Citizen of an eligible developing country
• Not an Australian citizen or permanent resident
• Currently residing and working in their home country
• Relevant professional experience aligned with the fellowship
• Sufficient English proficiency
• Able to travel without dependants
• Not serving military personnel
Funding / Coverage
Fully Funded Fellowship
Covers:
• Return international airfare
• Accommodation and living allowance
• Training and program costs
• Visa and health insurance
• Field activities and professional development support
Program Level
• Short-Term Professional Fellowship
• Duration: 2 to 52 weeks
• Minimum 2 weeks in Australia
