The National University of Singapore (NUS) invites applications for fully funded PhD positions in the Department of Geography, starting August 2026.
The program offers research opportunities across Environmental Geography, Human Geography, and Geographical Information Science (GIS).

Eligibility Criteria:
• Open to both international and domestic applicants
• Strong academic background in geography or related disciplines
• Demonstrated research potential and interest in faculty expertise areas
• Applicants must submit a Statement of Purpose (max ~2,100 words):
– Background & Motivation (~600 words)
– Research Proposal (~1,500 words) including literature review, framework, and methodology
• Two referees must submit recommendation reports online
• Prior contact with potential supervisors is highly encouraged
Funding / Coverage:
Fully Funded (tuition + stipend)
• Full tuition fee waiver
• Monthly stipend (amount varies by scholarship type)
