The CMT Research Foundation (CMTRF) invites global researchers and organizations to submit proposals aimed at advancing therapies and cures for Charcot–Marie–Tooth disease (CMT).
The foundation supports innovative, high-impact projects that bridge the gap between laboratory discoveries and clinical treatments.
Funding is open to academic institutions, non-profits, for-profit biotech companies, and research hospitals worldwide.
Eligibility Criteria:
• Open to applicants from all countries and sectors (academic, non-profit, industry)
• Projects must align with CMTRF’s mission to accelerate treatments or cures for CMT
• Strong preliminary data and clear translational potential preferred
• Multidisciplinary collaborations encouraged
• For-profit organizations eligible if outcomes align with CMTRF’s goals and potential IP agreements are transparent
Funding / Coverage:
• Typical award: USD 100,000 – 200,000 per year (1 – 3 years)
• Larger budgets may be considered for exceptional proposals
• Indirect costs (overheads) capped at 10%
• Continued funding dependent on achieving clearly defined milestones
• May include funding for personnel, supplies, and relevant research expenses
