The World Bank Group Young Professionals Program (YPP) is a career program for individuals with a master’s degree and 2–6 years of professional experience. Participants work across the World Bank Group’s institutions—IBRD, IDA, IFC, MIGA, and ICSID in areas including human development, economic policy, environment, infrastructure, digital solutions, investment, law, IT, budgeting, and human resources.

Candidates must demonstrate technical expertise, cross-sector knowledge, and leadership potential. Selected participants start a 2-year term contract (renewable based on performance) and may be located in Washington, DC or any World Bank Group country office worldwide.

    The World Bank Group Young Professionals Program (YPP) is a global recruitment initiative for highly qualified individuals to begin mid-career roles within the institution. The program emphasizes technical expertise, cross-sector collaboration, and leadership potential.

    Participants can join work programs across diverse areas, including human development, economic policy, environment, infrastructure, digital transformation, investment, legal services, IT solutions, strategic planning, and human resources.

    Selected candidates will start on September 1, 2026, under a two-year term contract at GF level, with the possibility of a renewable five-year contract. Positions may be based in Washington, DC, or in World Bank Group country offices worldwide.

    The application period is from September 1–30, 2025 (11:59 UTC). Required documents include a CV, passport copy, and academic transcripts. Assessments and interviews will take place in December 2025–January 2026, with results announced in late January 2026.
    Master’s degree (minimum) + 2–6 years of professional experience

    Nationality of a World Bank Group member country

    Degree completed before September 1, 2026 (doctoral candidates must be nearly finished by then)

    Excellent English skills (other languages an advantage)

    Not a current World Bank staff member (term, open, ST, ET appointments)

    Eligible if you are a current JPA or a former Bank intern (internship must end on/before Sept 30, 2025)
