United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research (UNIDIR)

A paid professional development program for recent graduates or current graduate students, offering hands-on experience in international security, disarmament, and emerging technologies. Participants contribute to the AI & Autonomy or Science, Technology & Innovation workstreams, working on policy research, coordination, and outreach.

Location: Geneva, Switzerland (remote option available)

    Funding / Coverage

    *Stipend: USD 665.50/month (remote) – USD 1,331/month (in-person)

    *Duration: 6 months full-time (extendable)

    *Remote work option available; on-site preferred for AI & Autonomy track

    *Travel, visa, accommodation, insurance, and living costs for in-person candidates are their responsibility
    Eligibility Criteria

    *Enrolled in a graduate program (second university degree or higher) or graduated within the last two years

    *Fluent in English (written and spoken)

    *Demonstrated interest in AI, emerging technologies, disarmament, and international security

    *Computer literacy (Microsoft Office; InDesign is a plus)

    *Open to domestic and international applicants
