Oregon State University – Disasters in Divided Societies Lab

Dr. Laura E. R. Peters, leading the Disasters in Divided Societies Lab at Oregon State University’s College of Earth, Ocean, and Atmospheric Sciences, is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to join an interdisciplinary NASA-funded project. The research collaborates with Tufts University, the American Red Cross, and UNHCR to develop a dynamic decision-support tool combining NASA Earth Observation data, climate science, and social systems analysis.

Location: Corvallis, Oregon, USA

    Desirable Qualifications:

    *Experience with scenario planning or practitioner collaboration

    *Expertise in refugee or displacement contexts

    *Knowledge of network or systems analysis
    Eligibility Criteria

    *Ph.D. in Geography, Disaster Studies, Environmental Studies, or related field (completed or expected by start date)

    *Experience in disaster research and risk management

    *Strong writing and peer-reviewed publication record

    *Ability to work independently and collaboratively

    *Fluent in written and spoken English
