International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is the world’s center for cooperation in the nuclear field. Established in 1957, it works with its Member States and partners to promote safe, secure, and peaceful use of nuclear technologies.

Location: Vienna, Austria (IAEA Headquarters)

    The IAEA is offering a 12-month internship in its Ethics Function within the Director General’s Office (DGO), based at headquarters in Vienna, Austria. The Ethics Function supports the Director General in ensuring the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and accountability within the Agency.

    As an Ethics Intern, you will:

    *Assist the Chief of Ethics with research and drafting on the Standards of Conduct for the International Civil Service, including case law analysis.

    *Research UN system ethics policies and practices to identify trends and best practices.

    *Support the management and enhancement of the IAEA Ethics intranet site, including digital outreach content.

    *Contribute to developing innovative awareness-raising and training materials.
    Eligibility:

    *Must be at least 20 years old.

    *Completed at least 3 years of full-time university studies towards a first degree in Law (Master’s in Law is an asset).

    *Knowledge of International Administrative Law is an advantage.

    *Candidates may apply up to one year after completing a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctorate.

    *Must not have previously participated in the IAEA Internship Programme.

    *Excellent written and spoken English required; knowledge of another IAEA official language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Spanish, Russian) is an asset.

    *Two signed letters of recommendation must be attached to the application.
