CESVI – Cooperazione e Sviluppo Onlus

CESVI has been active in Ethiopia since 2018, implementing programs focused on community resilience, climate-smart agriculture, and livelihood support. Their initiatives include promoting resilient crops, agroforestry, soil health, and strengthening local value chains, particularly for women and youth.

Location
South Ethiopia Regional State: Konso Zone (Karat Zuria District) and Gardula Zone (Derashe District)

    The Community Facilitator supports agriculture, nutrition, and livelihood interventions at kebele and community level. Responsibilities include community mobilization, beneficiary targeting, facilitation of trainings and demonstrations, establishing community groups, providing technical support, and routine follow-up and reporting. The role works under the supervision of the Agricultural Extensionist and serves as a link between the project, communities, and local government extension services.
    Eligibility Criteria

    *Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Rural Development, Natural Resource Management, Livelihoods, or related fields

    *Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in community mobilization, agricultural extension, or livelihood projects

    *Fluency in English and Amharic; knowledge of local languages is an asset

    *Willingness to work extensively in rural and remote locations


    Preferred Qualifications

    *Experience in community mobilization and agriculture/livelihood projects

    *Familiarity with local government extension systems

    *Previous experience with NGOs or donor-funded programs

    Other Skills & Competencies

    *Community facilitation and interpersonal skills

    *Data collection and reporting

    *Commitment to gender, inclusion, and community participation

    *Ability to work closely with rural communities and government partners


    Responsibilities

    *Mobilize and engage farmers, women, and youth for project activities

    *Facilitate meetings, workshops, and school-based awareness sessions

    *Support participatory beneficiary selection and data collection

    *Provide technical guidance for moringa, sorghum, and legume cultivation

    *Support nurseries, seedling distribution, and peer-to-peer learning

    *Assist community groups and processing units with governance, business management, and market linkage

    *Conduct follow-up visits, prepare reports, and coordinate with authorities
